Background: Marc Forgione, a New York native and winner of The Next Iron Chef in 2010, began cooking at age 16 with his father, Larry Forgione (credited as “helping revolutionize American Cuisine” in the 70s and 80s). After completing college and working as a sous chef at multiple New York locations,  Marc found a home at the new and upcoming bistro, BLT Steak.

Deciding to expand his culinary experience, Forgione traveled to France, carefully honing his skills under several esteemed and accomplished chefs. Upon his return to New York, Marc resumed his connection with BLT Prime which went on to win a multitude of recognition including a 27 in the Zagat Guide (subsequently making BLT Prime the highest-ranking steakhouse in the history of NYC). Marc has continued to play a pivitol role in building the BLT empire and reach across the US and into Puerto Rico.

In June, 2008, Marc opened Marc Forgione restaurant (formally known as his long-time nickname, “Forge”) with friend and business partner Chris Blumlo. Since it’s opening, the restaurant has received a multitude of awards and recognition for Forgione’s inventive and bold use of flavors in his cuisine. In late 2010, Marc competed and won the title of Iron Chef after defeating Marco Canora of The Next Iron Chef in an epic Thanksgiving showdown.

Personal Style: Marc currently resides in New York City and can be found in the kitchen both in and out of his acclaimed restaurant. He continues to make appearances on The Food Network and battle accomplished chefs inside Kitchen Stadium.
